Actor Saif Ali Khan was left blushing on The Great Indian Kapil Show after his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, joined host Kapil Sharma in teasing him about becoming a father in every decade of his life. In a recently released promo for the comedy chat show, Kareena's playful question about their family plans left Saif laughing awkwardly as the audience joined in.
The banter began when Kapil remarked, "Sir, it's a blessing that you have a child every decade." Kareena then turned to her husband and continued the joke, asking, "Saifu, you have a child every decade. What's the plan now?"
Before Saif could respond, co-host Archana Puran Singh added, "We're about to enter another decade soon." Kareena was quick with her reply, saying, "Yes, we are, but not with me." Her witty retort left Saif visibly embarrassed, while Kapil and the studio audience burst into laughter.
This is not the first time Kareena has spoken about Saif's experience of fatherhood across different stages of life. In an earlier interview with Vogue, the actor acknowledged that her husband had embraced parenthood in his twenties, thirties, forties and fifties.
"Saif has had a child every decade, in his twenties, thirties, forties and now in his fifties. I've told him, in your sixties, that's not happening. I think only a man as broad-minded as Saif could be a father of four children at very different stages," she said.
Kareena also spoke about how the couple manages their personal and professional commitments. "We've made a pact that when he's shooting for a film, I will try not to work on one at the same time (and vice versa)," she added.
Saif and Kareena married in October 2012 after several years of dating. They have two sons together, Taimur Ali Khan, born in December 2016, and Jehangir Ali Khan, popularly known as Jeh, born in February 2021.
Saif was previously married to actor Amrita Singh from 1991 until their divorce in 2004. They have two children, actor Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, making Saif a father of four.
On the work front, Kareena was last seen in Daayra, a crime thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar that also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran. Saif, meanwhile, recently appeared in Priyadarshan's Haiwaan, reuniting with Akshay Kumar after 17 years. The film is an official remake of the Malayalam thriller Oppam, which starred Mohanlal.
