Bollywood star Salman Khan grabbed the spotlight at a family celebration as he attended the engagement of Shanaya Munot, daughter of politician and fashion designer Shaina NC, in Mumbai. The intimate gathering also brought together prominent political figures, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray. Shanaya got engaged to entrepreneur Bhavik Merchant on October 17, during the Navratri festivities. Shaina NC shared the engagement news on social media on October 11, expressing her happiness as Shanaya and Bhavik began a new chapter together. "On this auspicious occasion of Navratri, we are overjoyed to share that our precious daughter Shanaya Munot & Bhavik Merchant got engaged," she wrote in her announcement. She also thanked God and acknowledged the blessings of their parents, family and friends.

The engagement coincided with Navratri, a festival associated with prayer, celebration and auspicious beginnings across India.
