Katrina Kaif has addressed criticism over her post-pregnancy appearance, making it clear she has no intention of rushing her fitness journey to meet society's expectations. In an interview with Vogue India, the actor opened up about the scrutiny she faced after stepping out for the Ambani's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in September 2026, when online body-shaming comments targeted her appearance.

Katrina, who welcomed her son Vihaan with husband Vicky Kaushal less than a year ago, said she would rather focus on motherhood and the next phase of her life than be affected by public opinion about her body.

"We live in a world that wants to blow us around in the ever-changing winds of opinions," she said, reflecting on the criticism. "I think most people are aware of what a woman's body goes through after giving birth. And if they still choose to view that body through a harsh lens, it's a personal choice. It can't be blamed on a lack of information, because there is so much information out there. I just want to focus on this lovely part of my life and where I'm headed," Katrina said.

Addressing the expectations placed on women to regain their pre-pregnancy bodies quickly, Katrina challenged the idea that childbirth should be followed by an immediate return to how things were before. "Bounce back? From where?" she asked, explaining that becoming a mother was something she had deeply desired.

"I have taken a step ahead to something that was a deep desire in my heart, so why would I want to go back?" the actor said. The actor added that she remains conscious of her fitness and how her body feels, but is determined to progress at her own pace. "I am very aware of my fitness journey and where my body feels at its most energetic. I will reach there at my own pace," she said. She also recently spoke about self-worth.

Katrina also spoke warmly about Vicky's role as a husband and father. Praising his ability to balance work and family, she said he makes an effort to remain present with her and their son, even after long working days.

"As a father, he's been amazing. He has this incredible superpower to be 100 per cent present in the moment with Vihaan and me, even when he is tired and has been working 14, 16 or 18 hours a day," she said.

Katrina added that romantic dinners and movie nights have taken a backseat since becoming parents, but Vicky reassures her that they will find time for themselves again.

The actor's comments come as she embraces motherhood without allowing online criticism to dictate how quickly she should return to her pre-pregnancy appearance.
