Years before they became one of Hollywood and Bollywood's favourite power couples, Nick Jonas took a chance with a simple direct message. The singer has now revealed the exact text that sparked his romance with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, giving fans a nostalgic glimpse into the beginning of their love story.
During an appearance on the Hey Jonas podcast, Nick and Priyanka revisited the early days of their relationship and recalled how a Twitter (now X) message eventually led to marriage.
Nick revealed that his brother Kevin Jonas first introduced him to Priyanka through her American series Quantico. "Have you seen this show Quantico? And there is this billboard of the show. So I go home and find you on Twitter to see if you follow me, which you did," he shared.
The podcast then displayed a screenshot of Nick's first-ever message to Priyanka. It read: "Hello, I have heard from a few people that we should meet. I have to agree with these people. Are you in LA anytime soon?"
Priyanka replied, "Hey... Graham's told me so much about you.... Let's text, more private. My team can access this."
The actress also shared a sweet memory from their early conversations, revealing that Nick wanted to make sure he was actually talking to her and not someone from her team.
"He wanted to corroborate that it was actually me. So he asked me for a photo, that moment looking into the camera with a timestamp. I appreciated it too. It was after a fashion show. I was cute that day," Priyanka joked.
Nick explained that their relationship didn't happen overnight, with the pair spending months getting to know each other before romance blossomed.
"So we started texting. It wasn't until a year and a half later that we started dating and then eventually we were engaged," he recalled.
Nick and Priyanka tied the knot in a lavish wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in December 2018, celebrating with both Christian and Hindu ceremonies. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, via surrogacy in January 2022 and have since continued to balance their successful careers while sharing glimpses of family life.
On the professional front, Priyanka is gearing up for SS Rajamouli's ambitious film Varanasi, in which she will essay the role of Mandakini. She also has The Bluff lined up and was recently seen reprising her role alongside Richard Madden in Citadel Season 2.
