Actors Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have recreated a memorable scene from the horror film Obsession ahead of its premiere on JioHotstar. The actors, who lend their Hindi voices to the characters Bear and Nikki, respectively, joined director Amar Kaushik for a recreation of the scene as the film prepares to arrive on the streaming platform.
The uncut, original version of Obsession will premiere on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar on October 30 at 7 pm in English and Hindi. The promotional video follows an earlier announcement confirming Varun and Kriti as the Hindi voices of the film's central characters.
In the video shared on social media, Varun and Kriti are seated across from each other in a restaurant setting, recreating the scene in Hindi. Kriti captures Nikki's unsettling intensity, while Varun steps into Bear's character. The recreation gives viewers a taste of the film's unsettling tone ahead of its streaming debut. With the original version also available, audiences will be able to experience the story in English or Hindi.
The collaboration marks another association between Varun and Kriti, who have previously shared screen space in films including Dilwale and Bhediya. This time, the actors are connected through voice performances rather than appearing as the film's on-screen leads.
The makers had previously teased the collaboration by announcing the actors' involvement in the Hindi version. The latest video builds on that announcement, giving audiences a closer look at the duo's interpretation of the characters before the film's release on the platform.
Directed by Curry Barker, Obsession features Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston in the original theatrical version. The film has reportedly grossed more than USD 500 million worldwide, with the makers highlighting its response in India as part of the lead-up to its streaming premiere.
The uncut original version will be available on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar from October 30 at 7 pm in both English and Hindi. The release gives viewers an opportunity to watch the film in its original language or experience the Hindi version featuring Varun and Kriti's voice performances.
