Janhvi Kapoor has come under fire for her dating advice to Veer Pahariya on Koffee With Karan, with several viewers accusing her of making another woman the punchline of a joke. Her remark - "Never take her to a concert" - has been interpreted as a dig at Veer's former girlfriend, actor Tara Sutaria, and the viral moment involving her and singer AP Dhillon at a Mumbai concert last year.
According to India Today, Janhvi's comment recieved mixed reactions online, with some finding it cheeky and others questioning the need to bring another woman into the joke. "Why put another woman down, it's just embarrassing." One user wrote, "She stooped so low just to win a hamper." A third expressed disappointment over Janhvi's remark instead, saying she could have avoided taking a dig at another woman.
The backlash has focused less on Janhvi's one-liner and more on what viewers believe it alludes to: the widely-discussed concert moment that brought Tara under scrutiny, followed by speculation about her relationship with Veer. Janhvi commented on the rapid-fire round of Koffee With Karan, where she appeared alongside her Bawaal co-star Varun Dhawan. Host Karan Johar asked her what dating advice she would give Veer, the brother of her partner, Shikhar Pahariya. "Never take her to a concert," Janhvi replied.
Varun, Karan and Arjun Kapoor exchanged puzzled looks. Although the brief exchange offered no further clarification, the remark was enough to bring the concert controversy back into the spotlight.
In December 2025, Tara joined AP Dhillon on stage during his Mumbai concert. A video from the event showed the singer hugging the actor and planting a peck on her cheek. The clip soon went viral, sparking online speculation about Veer Pahariya's reaction and his relationship with Tara.
The speculation intensified after a video circulated online, with viewers interpreting Veer's expressions as a sign of discomfort. Veer later clarified that the footage being used to suggest he was unhappy had been taken from a different part of the concert. Tara, meanwhile, dismissed what she described as false narratives and paid PR campaigns.
