A long wait in one's debut can dim an actor's spirit. Not if they are flooded with work in the meantime, pointed out Pragati Srivastava. The actor is making her Bollywood debut with Aanand L Rai's production Nakhrewaalii, which has hit the theatres today after a two-year wait.
Srivastava shared that though she was sad that director Rahul Shanklya's romantic comedy was taking time to see the light of day, she didn't dwell on it. After all, she had bagged filmmaker Prakash Jha's next and a rom-com with Vedang Raina. "Once I get done with my work, I don't worry about it too much. God has been kind. So, I did not get enough time to sit and feel bad about [why Nakhrewaalii wasn't releasing]. If something has stopped, it's for a reason. After doing Nakhrewaalii, I kept auditioning. Then I worked with Prakash Jha sir on his next, and a film with Vedang. So, my two years were busy," she said.
Her bigger ambition is to leverage her acting career to be a tool for social change. The actor, who holds a Master's degree in Public Policy, said, "While I was studying, I also worked in the R&D team in the Rajya Sabha. I am passionate about social change. One day, I may use this [platform] to create a bigger impact [on society]."
