Even while living abroad, Priyanka Chopra makes sure to celebrate Indian festivals and traditions. On Thursday, the actor took to Instagram to share a bunch of pictures from her Karwa Chauth celebrations: her DIY mehndi design, her breaking the Karwa Chauth fast, Malti hugging Nick, and another showed her in a ceremonial red outfit. However, one particular picture from her celebrations has caught the attention of social media users and sparked criticism online.
The photograph shows Priyanka posing with her a'' towards the camera, with a visible mark on her suit. Some users speculated that it was a bite mark left by Nick Jonas, questioning her decision to share what they perceived to be an intimate moment publicly.
Several social media users expressed their displeasure over the picture, with comments such as "Why would she post it" and "It's disgusting" emerging in the online discussion. One user wrote, "He literally bit her a'' what it means." Another commented, "The timing, the look, the whole presentation... nobody's missing the message she's trying to send." One user on Reddit commented, "Is it just me or she tries too hard? At least give it a rest during religious festivals."
However, some defended her in the comment section, stating that she is married now and can post whatever she feels like. One user wrote, "Husband and wife things. Why does everyone comment on every little thing? It's her page and her post. Critique something that actually makes sense." Another commented, "She has a daughter too... maybe she did this. Why do people always make a fuss over nothing"
The picture has since become a discussion point, shifting attention away from the actor's Karwa Chauth celebrations and towards the debate around sharing personal moments on social media.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot in December 2018 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Their wedding celebrations included both Hindu and Christian rituals, reflecting their respective cultural backgrounds. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, through surrogacy in January 2022. Since then, they have often shared glimpses of their family life on social media, while maintaining a degree of privacy around their daughter.
