Pulkit Samrat loses 2.5 kg muscle and strength as he battles malaria: 'We’ll build it again'

Bollywood actor Pulkit Samrat has shared a health update with fans, revealing that he is currently battling malaria. The illness has taken a toll on his well-built physique, with the actor revealing that he has lost 2.5 kg of muscle and some strength.

The Fukrey actor took to the Stories section of his official Instagram account and dropped a selfie. Pulkit wrote on the photo-sharing app, "Malaria took a little more out of me than I expected. Lost 2.5 kg of muscle and a fair bit of strength. But I know this body. We've built it before. We'll build it again (sic)."

On the work front, Pulkit was recently seen in Rahu Ketu and Glory. The film Rahu Ketu is described as a comedy that offers a peculiar perspective on belief systems and daily turmoil by fusing astrology with humour. Varun Sharma assured that Rahu Ketu will remind fans of Fukrey. "Just like Fukrey 1, 2, and 3, this film offers the same spirit, but in a completely new world with new characters and a fresh set of actors." The film also starred Shalini Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial, Manu Rishi Chadha, and Sumit Gulati.

Apart from this, Pulkit transformed himself for Netflix's Glory, in which he starred as a boxer. Created by Karan Anshuman and Karmanya Ahuja, the Netflix sports thriller revolves around a renowned boxing coach and his two estranged sons, whose Olympic dreams collide with secrets and revenge. Samrat stars alongside Divyenndu and Suvinder Vicky.

Revealing that the shoot wrapped in mid-2025, the actor shared with mid-day that being part of the universe was physically taxing. "The process has been intense, yet addictive," he smiles.

Pulkit remains on top of his fitness game, sharing constant updates from his personal and professional lives. In May, Pulkit provided netizens with a glimpse into his productive morning routine, which included red light therapy for his face, a strong cuppa Joe, and some Turkish eggs, along with lentil bread.

Over the years, he has been seen in films such as Sanam Re, Jai Ho, Dolly Ki Doli, Bangistan, Veerey Ki Wedding, Pagalpanti, and Taish.
