Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan appeared on Amitabh Bachchan-hosted game Kaun Banega Crorepati to promote his film Haiwaan and earned himself the playful tag of 'ghee legend' among fans. However, during his latest appearance on Netflix's The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show, the actor jokingly complained that he still did not have the two-year supply of ghee he won on the show. He also revealed that his cheque was also pending.
While chatting with Kapil Sharma on the Netflix show, Saif Ali Khan poked fun at the situation. The actor responded after Kapil read out a fan's comment claiming that winning two years' worth of ghee had made him so elated that he decided to join Instagram.
Saif responded, "Main ek baat clear karna chahunga ke mujhe ghee toh mila nahi abhi tak," leaving Kapil and the audience in splits. He then added, "Even my cheque's not come," making his wife Kareena Kapoor, actor Archana Puran Singh and Kapil crack up.
Saif Ali Khan appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati in late September alongside Akshay Kumar. The actors visited the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show to promote their film Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan. During the episode, Big B announced that answering the 10th question correctly would earn them a two-year supply of ghee.
Saif's reaction went viral. "Wow, what?" he exclaimed when Bachchan announced the prize. Akshay burst into laughter, while Saif Ali Khan did not attempt to hide his excitement when the host Amitabh Bachchan repeated the offer, saying, "This is it; this is why I came."
His reaction about winning ghee soon became a meme, with fans calling him a âGen Z born in the wrong era'. When Saif later joined Instagram, his comment section was filled with references to the ghee prize.
