Tara Sutaria
The casting of the female lead in the ambitious mythological epic, âMahavatar', seems to have taken another turn. After Shraddha Kapoor and Harnaaz Sandhu were linked to director Amar Kaushik's movie, industry chatter now suggests that Tara Sutaria is being considered for the role opposite Vicky Kaushal, who will portray Parashurama.
A source close to the development told mid-day, "The casting conversations around âMahavatar' have been fluid for some time. Several names have been discussed at different stages, and Tara's name has certainly come up. But nothing has been locked at this point. The makers want to rope in an actor who can hold her own within the larger-than-life world of the film." Sutaria, who made her acting debut with âStudent of the Year 2' (2019), was recently seen in Yash's action fare âToxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups'.
âMahavatar', which marks Kaushal's second outing with Maddock Films after âChhaava' (2025), is expected to roll in January 2027.
