The Akhtar family brought a touch of Bollywood glamour to Wimbledon 2026, with Shabana Azmi giving fans a glimpse into their outing at the prestigious tennis tournament. The veteran actor took to Instagram to share a series of candid family moments featuring husband Javed Akhtar, stepson Farhan Akhtar and daughter-in-law Shibani Dandekar.
Captioning the post simply, "The Akhtars at Wimbledon finals," Shabana shared pictures that quickly caught the attention of fans. One of the standout images showed lyricist Javed Akhtar smiling alongside Shibani, who affectionately rested her hand on his arm, highlighting the warm bond they share. Another candid click featured Farhan taking a selfie with Shibani as the couple twinned in crisp white outfits, perfectly fitting the tournament's classic aesthetic.
Shibani was among the first to react to Shabana's post, commenting, "Best time ever," while fans flooded the comments section with love for the close-knit family.
Shibani also shared a carousel of pictures from the Wimbledon finals on her own Instagram account, featuring special moments with Javed and Farhan, along with a few solo photographs from the iconic venue.
"Third wheeling the father-son tradition and having the time of my life! Wimbledon 2026 you were incredible! Memories locked in for a lifetime with jaduakhtar faroutakhtar. Heart is full," she wrote.
For those unaware, Farhan Akhtar is Javed Akhtar's son from his first marriage to screenwriter Honey Irani. Javed later married actor Shabana Azmi in 1984, and over the years the family has often spoken about the close relationship they share. Shabana, in particular, has maintained a warm bond with Farhan and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, often celebrating family milestones together.
The Akhtars weren't the only Indian celebrities making headlines at Wimbledon this year.
