Ayesha Khan condemns Jamui assault case; slams those who call it moral policing

Actor Ayesha Khan recently strongly reacted to the assault and harassment of two minors in Bihar's Jamui. A video of the incident surfaced on the internet, triggering widespread outrage. Ayesha took to her Instagram to condemn the incident and questioned those justifying the act as ‘moral policing'.

Ayesha Khan slams the Jamui incident

Ayesha, who is known to speak up vocally on social issues, took to Instagram Stories and wrote, "I genuinely feel sick watching what happened in Bihar. Imagine being surrounded, terrified and humiliated while people stand around watching and recording you. Stop calling this morality. Stop hiding harassment behind ‘culture'. This is pathetic and beyond disgusting."

She also shared another Instagram Story, questioning those who defended the idea of moral policing after the alleged assault. "Who asked for your solution? Who asked for moral policing? Who gave you the right? I can't believe some people are saying that the way of moral policing could have been done in a better manner. Who are you? Who asked you? What is even more scary is everyone around is recording and they thought it is okay to post this? So no fear? No realisation? No morals? Oh so these people need moral policing do they? Everyone but the monster is the problem, then what is the permanent solution?," she wrote.

About the Jamui incident

The alleged incident took place on September 19, 2026. Two Class 10 students, who are reportedly friends and attend the same coaching institute, had visited a spot near Madwa hillock along the Jamui-Lakhisarai road after their classes to take photographs. While they were returning on a scooter at around 7 pm, a group of local youths stopped them.

As per the police, the teenagers were abused and forced off their vehicle. The boy was reportedly beaten, while the girl was sexually assaulted. The group of boys also recorded the assault and threatened the teenagers with further consequences. The victims, despite the threats, approached the police two days later, on September 21.

The video was later circulated widely on social media, leading to public outrage. Police have reportedly traced the teenagers using the vehicle registration number visible in the footage.
