The Vvaan box office day 1: Sidharth Malhotra starrer beats Haiwaan and Batwara 1947 with an opening of Rs 8 crore collection

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest had their theatrical release on September 25. The film has received mixed reviews from the fans. Now, looking at their day 1 Box office collection, the film had a decent opening with Rs 8 crore.

As per Sacnilk, Sidharth Malhotra starrer garnered earnings across 6,746 shows. As the gross collection increases, it currently stands at Rs 9.6 crore, marking Rs 8 crore from collection through all over India. The collection manages to beat recent released big-budget films like Haiwaan and Batwara 1947. Haiwaan had managed to only collect Rs 3 crore on day 1 while Batwara 1947 collected Rs 5.75 crore.

The Vvaan follows Rishi, played by Sidharth Malhotra, a city-bred rationalist who returns to his ancestral village in Bihar with his wife Mamta, played by Tamannaah Bhatia, to sell inherited land. Rishi is initially dismissive of the villagers' belief that a mysterious forest must not be entered after sunset, considering it nothing more than superstition. He supports Deepak, played by Sunil Grover, in clearing part of the forest to improve connectivity in the village.

However, Rishi's perspective changes dramatically when he enters the forbidden forest one night and accidentally breaks an ancient seal. His actions unleash a supernatural force linked to the long-standing legend of the Van Devi. As inexplicable incidents begin unfolding, Rishi is forced to question everything he believes in. His journey soon becomes a quest to uncover the truth behind the forest, the Van Devi and the secrets that have remained hidden for generations.

As per mid-day's review, The Vvaan struggles to prove its cinematic value amid the daily soap approach. Being the first collaboration between Ektaa Kapoor and TVF, the film had rough edges, comedy tried to keep the authentic flavour intact with relatable jokes, however, the drama seemed mediocre. The Vvaan, banked on Chhath Puja's essence, but failed to keep its flavour. While the film had some good parts with the Kal Ho Naa Ho nostalgia with Sulbha Arya and Manish Paul's comic scenes. The climax couldn't keep the audience at the edge of their seats. Despite a good story, The Vvaan didn't feel like a cinematic expression but an out and out long run of a TV show.
