Actor Akshaye Khanna is someone who hardly gets spotted by the paparazzi, and he is barely clicked at public gatherings, screenings or B-Town parties. However, on Wednesday afternoon, the Dhurandhar star made a rare appearance in Mumbai. He was papped by the shutterbugs in the city while heading out of a restaurant, and he happily posed for the cameras. The actor was seen with actor-producer Rajat Rawail, and fans are wondering if the two are set to collaborate for a project.
While everyone is stunned by Akshaye Khanna making a rare appearance, the coincidence is that he was papped on the same day as the trailer of Drishyam: The Conclusion was dropped. For the unversed, Akshaye, who was seen in Drishyam 2 alongside Tabu and Ajay Devgn, was supposed to star in the third instalment of the franchise. But, according to producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, the actor backed out due to creative and monetary differences. Later, Jaideep Ahlawat was finalised to play the cop in the film. Well, Jaideep has not replaced Akshaye, the makers have introduced a new character in the third part of the franchise.
Akshaye arrived in a salt-and-pepper look. He was seen dressed in a basic T-shirt and jeans, with a scarf covering his head and a grey-flecked beard. Meanwhile, a few people on social media have said that him being spotted on the Drishyam 3 trailer day is actually a coincidence.
Workwise, Akshaye was last seen in Dhurandhar in 2025, essaying the character of Rehman Dakait, the Sher-E-Baloch. The internet couldn't stop going gaga over his performance in the film and his viral dance to the Bahraini song FA9LA.
Akshaye will next be seen in Mahakali, making his Telugu debut. He essays the role of Shukracharya. Directed by Hanuman-fame Prasanth Varma, the film is slated to hit theatres in 2027. The movie also stars Sriya Reddy, Rohit Saraf and Bhoomi Shetty.
