The Dhurandhar franchise has created history at the box office and continues to be one of the landmark films in Indian cinema. Even months after its release, the franchise helmed by Aditya Dhar continues to be a major talking point among moviegoers. One of the many things about Dhurandhar 2, which released in March 2026, that got everyone talking was actress Yami Gautam's special appearance with Ranveer Singh in the sequel. Following the cameo, several reports were doing the rounds about her paycheck for the cameo.
Now, the actress has addressed the rumours surrounding the fees she received for the appearance. Yami dismissed claims that she was paid a "very big fat cheque" for the cameo, adding that the opportunity to be directed by Aditya was priceless.
Yami, during her appearance on the Marathi quiz show Kon Honaar Crorepati, hosted by Madhuri Dixit, spoke about her appearance in Dhurandhar 2. The makers shared a video on Instagram, wherein Yami is seen explaining why the opportunity meant more to her than a hefty paycheck to her.
During the conversation, Madhuri hailed Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge while asking Yami whether she was paid for her appearance or if her husband Aditya had simply asked her to take on the role.
Yami replied, saying, "I read somewhere that I got a very big fat cheque for the cameo, and I was like, what is this? But I think some things are priceless. It was very sweet of Aditya to say, ' Yami, I want you to come in my film just for good luck and steal the frame.' But it was so fun. To get directed by one of the finest directors was my fees."
To this, the host added, "And it was fun to watch you in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, when she turns, and we see it's Yami. It was fun to watch."
Dhurandhar: The Revenge stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, alongside Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, has Yami in a special appearance as Shazia Bano. She plays a nurse who is revealed to be an undercover Indian agent in Pakistan. Although she appears in a short cameo, her appearance forms a significant part of the film's espionage-driven narrative.
