Actor Pedro Pascal is leaving behind his action-packed persona for a refreshingly different role in Behemoth!, the upcoming drama from Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Tony Gilroy. Searchlight Pictures has unveiled the film's official teaser and poster, giving audiences their first glimpse of Pascal as Alex Serian, a gifted cellist whose life takes an unexpected emotional turn.
Known for high-profile performances in The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, Gladiator II and Materialists, Pascal steps into completely new territory as a musician whose greatest battle is internal rather than physical. Alex returns to Los Angeles after spending 20 years travelling the world. Music, which has defined every chapter of his life, soon leads him on a deeply personal journey that changes him forever.
The teaser keeps much of the plot under wraps but hints at an emotionally rich narrative driven by family, self-discovery and the healing power of art. Unlike the adrenaline-fuelled projects Pascal has become synonymous with, Behemoth! promises a quieter, character-led story that allows the actor to showcase a different side of his range.
Written and directed by Tony Gilroy, whose credits include Michael Clayton and the critically acclaimed Star Wars: Andor, Behemoth! brings together an impressive ensemble cast. Joining Pedro Pascal are Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Alexa Swinton, Kaya Ralls, Erik Griffin, JoBeth Williams, Margarita Levieva, Hank Azaria and Will Arnett in pivotal roles.
The film is produced by Tony Gilroy alongside Sanne Wohlenberg (Star Wars: Andor, Chernobyl) and John Gilroy. With Gilroy at the helm, expectations are high for a drama that blends emotional storytelling with layered performances.
