The final trailer for Tom Cruise's Digger was unveiled on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The additional glimpses from the film take audiences deeper into the mess that oil tycoon Digger Rockwell has found himself at the centre of. Tom Cruise, who plays Digger Rockwell in the film, is seen racing to save humanity from the disaster.
Like the earlier Digger trailer, this latest visual once again shows Cruise as the immensely powerful oil baron whose empire has become entangled in an ecological catastrophe. The consequences of the disaster could possibly reach the highest levels of power. Digger finds himself at the centre of a crisis that threatens to turn into a global catastrophe.
The most powerful people in the country come together to find a solution to the chaos and eventually turn to Digger to get them out of the mess. Digger is convinced that he is the only man who can take control of the situation.
Digger races against time to prove that he can fix the very mess he may have helped create. Featuring sharp satire, dark humour and increasingly unpredictable turns, the final trailer of Digger gives the audience a closer look at the madness that filmmaker Alejandro G Inarritu has created.
Tom Cruise stars in the title role in the film alongside Oscar winner Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Oscar nominee Jesse Plemons. The film also stars Robert John Burke, Emma D'Arcy, Burn Gorman and Sophie Wilde in pivotal roles.
Alejandro G Inarritu has written the screenplay and directed the film. The film is produced by Inarritu, Oscar nominee Mary Parent, Tom Cruise and Michael Sharp, and executive produced by Joshua Grode, Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, Nicolás Giacobone, Jez Butterworth and Emmanuel Lubezki.
Tom Cruise recently opened up about playing Digger Rickwell in the film. He shared, "It took all of my knowledge, from all of the years of every film I made, to be able to play this character and fulfil the ambition of this movie."
He further recalled that from the moment the filmmaker introduced him to his vision for the character, he knew he wanted to take on the challenge. He shared, "[Inarritu] showed me, âHere's kind of the character that I want,'" to which Cruise responded with a, "Let's fucking go. I couldn't wait."
