Jimmy Kimmel is set to return as the host of the 95th edition of the Academy Awards

Late-night star Jimmy Kimmel has got third time lucky as he is set to return as the host of the 95th edition of the Academy Awards. Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, the executive producers and showrunners behind the Oscars, announced that Kimmel, who hosted the 2018 and 2019 ceremonies, will be the solo host for gala event that takes place on March 12, 2023. In a joint statement, Weiss and Kirshner said, "We are super thrilled to have Jimmy score a hat-trick on this global stage. We know he will be funny and ready for anything."

In his trademark humour, Kimmel said, "Being invited to host the Oscars for a third time is either a great honour or a trap. Either way, I am grateful to the Academy for asking me so quickly after everyone good said no." Before the Jimmy Kimmel Live star, the Oscar ceremony has been hosted thrice by only five stars - Jerry Lewis, Steve Martin, Conrad Nagel and David Niven.
