Kim Kardashian's four children have been added to the restraining order protecting the reality star from a man she has accused of stalking her for several years. A judge granted Kardashian's request to extend the protection to North West, Saint West, Chicago West and Psalm West on September 10.
According to TMZ, the updated order will remain in effect until August 3, 2031. Kardashian had approached the court in July seeking to have her children specifically included in the order against Nicholas Costanza.
Kardashian first obtained a restraining order against Costanza in 2021 after alleging that he repeatedly appeared at her gated community. Court documents from the time reportedly stated that Costanza had visited her property on multiple occasions. In one incident, he reportedly told security personnel that he had come to pick Kardashian up for dinner.
Her security team also intercepted a package sent by Costanza that contained a diamond ring and birth control pills.
Kardashian further alleged that Costanza had targeted her online. According to the court documents, he posted what appeared to be a fake marriage certificate along with messages suggesting that Kardashian was waiting for him.
A judge granted Kardashian a five-year restraining order in July 2021. However, the situation reportedly escalated a few months later when Costanza returned to her gated community despite the order. TMZ reported in October 2021 that security detained him before police arrived, following which he was arrested and booked on a felony stalking charge.
As the original restraining order approached its expiration, Kardashian's attorneys, Shawn Holley and Kate Mangels, argued that continued protection was necessary. Her legal team pointed to messages Costanza sent in violation of the order and maintained that his behaviour had not improved.
Court documents also reportedly detailed an 2024 incident in which Costanza entered a home he claimed he had purchased with Kardashian. He instructed her to meet him there with her entire family.
Following these developments, Kardashian asked the court to extend the protection to her four children. North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm are Kardashian's children with her former husband Kanye West.
The renewed order now specifically protects all four children, with the court-ordered protection set to remain in place until August 2031.
