Narnia: The Magician`s Nephew
The magical world of Narnia is all set to return to the big screen. The trailer for Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, that is directed by Greta Gerwig, has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into the origins of the fantasy universe created by author and writer C. S. Lewis. The film is scheduled to release in Indian theatres on February 12, 2027.
Based on Lewis' 1955 novel, the upcoming film follows young Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer as they embark on an adventure that leads them into the mysterious world of Narnia. The story explores how the magical realm came into existence, taking audiences back to events that precede The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
The trailer introduces David McKenna as Digory Kirke and Beatrice Campbell as Polly Plummer, the young protagonists at the heart of the story. Emma Mackey plays Jadis, who later becomes known as the White Witch, while Daniel Craig essays the role of Uncle Andrew.
The film also features Carey Mulligan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and Meryl Streep, bringing together a mix of established performers and young actors for the fantasy adventure.
The footage offers a closer look at the film's characters and its fantastical setting, building on the first-look images previously released by Netflix and Sony Pictures. One of the earlier glimpses featured Jadis alongside Digory and Polly in a striking red-tinted setting.
Gerwig, who was the director of the global hit Barbie, takes on the challenge of bringing Lewis' much-loved literary universe to the big screen. The Magician's Nephew is the sixth book in The Chronicles of Narnia series by publication order, but its events take place before those of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
The story delves into the creation of Narnia and introduces the circumstances that lead to the formation of its magical world, offering a new entry point into the franchise for audiences.
Produced by Netflix and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing International, Narnia: The Magician's Nephew is slated to arrive in Indian cinemas on February 12, 2027.
