Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte's death by alleged suicide shocked everyone. The actor was found dead at his Texas home at the age of 34. Recent reports reveal that the actor was apparently struggling with major relationship issues during the weeks leading up to his death.

RJ Mitte was asked to choose between fiancee and his mother

According to TMZ, Mitte's fiancee, Kennedy Suarez, was concerned about his close relationship with his mother, Dyna. Thus, Suarez had asked him to choose between them. The situation left Mitte, who was close to his sister Lacianne, struggling with his relationship. The claims have not been verified, and the status of their relationship before the actor's death on October 12 is not clear.

Tensions between the pair had been brewing for some time, with Suarez feeling his mother was meddling in their relationship. Sources told the portal that Suarez wanted the actor to prioritise her before his mother, Dyna.

Notably, Mitte was said to be particularly close to his mother and sister, Lacianne, and thus did not want to alienate himself from his family. This allegedly caused a conflict between the pair.

The investigation also revealed that the connection had been weighing heavily on Mitte in the weeks before his death. Many around him had noticed that he was distressed. However, the claims have not been officially confirmed yet.

Mitte and Suarez were friends for nearly 10 years before they began dating in 2020. After a few years of courtship, they got engaged on October 10, 2025, which is exactly a year before the Breaking Bad actor died by suicide.

Mitte had proposed to Suarez on one knee in front of the crowd at the 56th annual Dia del Sol benefit event in Carlsbad, California. The event was held to support United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego, where he served as an official ambassador.

TMZ adds that the two were together until a week before his death. The actor was found dead at his home in Texas, on October 12, 2026. Confirming his demise, an official statement from his team read, "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte. Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion."
