Indian fans of Christopher Nolan are in for a treat. The acclaimed filmmaker is set to visit India for the premiere of his upcoming film The Odyssey, marking the first time the Oscar-winning director will attend a film premiere in the country.
Nolan will be accompanied by his longtime collaborator and wife, producer Emma Thomas, along with actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland, making it one of the biggest Hollywood promotional visits India has seen in recent years.
The announcement has already generated excitement among movie lovers, particularly given Nolan's massive fan following in India. Films such as Interstellar, Inception, Dunkirk, Oppenheimer and The Dark Knight trilogy have enjoyed strong support from Indian audiences, often turning into cultural events upon release.
While several Hollywood stars have visited India over the years, Nolan's upcoming trip is particularly significant as it will mark his first-ever film premiere in the country.
The filmmaker's last release, Oppenheimer, emerged as a major success in India and went on to win multiple Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. His return with The Odyssey is already among the most anticipated cinematic events of 2026.
The Mumbai premiere is expected to bring together fans, industry insiders and members of the media for a rare opportunity to see Nolan and his cast promote the film on Indian soil.
Joining Nolan for the event will be Matt Damon and Tom Holland, both of whom play key roles in the mythic action epic.
Damon, who previously collaborated with Nolan on Oppenheimer, reunites with the filmmaker for the ambitious project, while Holland continues to expand his filmography beyond the Spider-Man franchise with what is expected to be one of his most high-profile roles yet.
Emma Thomas, who has produced several of Nolan's acclaimed films and won an Academy Award for Oppenheimer, will also be part of the delegation visiting Mumbai.
Billed as a mythic action epic, The Odyssey is one of the most eagerly awaited Hollywood releases of the year. With Nolan, Damon and Holland all set to attend the Mumbai premiere, the event is expected to be a landmark moment for film fans in India.
