BTS officially kick-started the North American leg of their Arirang World Tour in Tampa. On day one, the group's electrifying performances and heartwarming interactions with each other left ARMY in awe. However, the group faced a temporary audio issue during the performance of their popular track, Magic Shop. Addressing the issue, Jungkook apologised to ARMY for the inconvenience and promised things would be fixed by the next day.
A technical glitch with the mic and sound seemed to have affected the output of the performance, and though the singers managed to salvage the situation, it drew mixed reactions from fans. While a few fans said that they did not realise there was an issue because the band sounded perfect, others criticised the group for the temporary disruption.
Although the glitch was resolved quickly, Jungkook took to his Instagram Stories, where he apologised to ARMY for the sound issues. He wrote, "There were sound issues with Magic Shop yesterday. No no worries, from today on, we'll get it right. Sorry to the ARMYs who came to see the performance yesterday. I'm angry too."
There was another Instagram Story Jungkook shared, but later deleted as the translation was claimed to be wrong. The now-deleted story read, "Sorry guys the autotune stopped working yesterday. We apologise to those who heard our original voices. We'll try to fix it tomorrow."
The Arirang World Tour, which marks BTS's return to live performances after completing military service, is not just a musical comeback but also a cultural statement. Arirang World Tour spans dozens of cities globally and is closely tied to their album Arirang, a title rooted in a traditional Korean folk song symbolising longing, hope, and emotional endurance.
Arirang, released on March 20, 2026, is BTS's latest studio album and their long-awaited return following a four-year hiatus for mandatory military service. Featuring 14 tracks (Body to Body, Hooligan, Aliens, FYA, 2.0., No. 29, the lead single SWIM, Merry Go Round, NORMAL, Like Animals, They Don't Know 'bout Us, One More Night, Please, and Into the Sun), the album serves as a powerful comeback that reconnects their global success with their Korean roots, blending introspective themes, artistic growth, and a fusion of experimental and nostalgic sounds.
Arirang broke several records immediately after its release, including the most successful album debut of 2026 and set a new record for the most-streamed K-pop album in 24 hours on Spotify.
