BTS star Jungkook's birthday celebrations have reached new heights, quite literally, as Japanese ARMY marked the singer's special day with a spectacular drone show in Tokyo. Ahead of his September 1 birthday, fans lit up the city's night sky with a grand tribute featuring 1,000 drones.
The breathtaking display was organised by Jungkook's Japanese fanbase, Jungkook Japan, and took place on August 30. The approximately 10-minute drone show transformed the Tokyo skyline into a visual celebration dedicated to the BTS maknae. The drones reportedly created stunning formations in the sky, leaving fans in awe as images and messages celebrating Jungkook appeared above the city.
The elaborate project is part of a series of large-scale birthday events being organised by ARMY across the world. Jungkook, who turns 29 on September 1, has once again become the centre of global fan celebrations, with supporters planning billboards, LED advertisements, fireworks and other special events in several countries.
Jungkook's birthday advertisements are being displayed across major cities in Asia, the US and Europe. In Tokyo, a large digital display at Shinjuku's Unic Vision is also set to carry birthday advertisements on September 1. Meanwhile, fans in Seoul, New York, Los Angeles, Jakarta, Budapest and other cities have prepared their own tributes.
Jungkook China is reportedly behind a particularly extensive campaign, with birthday advertisements planned across 11 major Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Nanjing. The fan club is also taking the celebrations to New York's Times Square, where advertisements are scheduled to appear on the massive TSX Live Billboard hundreds of times on September 1.
In Los Angeles, where Jungkook and his BTS bandmates are performing as part of the group's ARIRANG World Tour, fans have arranged LED truck campaigns around SoFi Stadium. Additional trucks are expected to travel through areas including Koreatown, Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
The Japanese celebrations are set to continue beyond the drone spectacle. Jungkook Japan is also planning a fireworks event on September 1, giving fans another opportunity to celebrate the singer's birthday in grand style.
From illuminated city landmarks to a sky filled with 1,000 drones, Jungkook's birthday has once again demonstrated the extraordinary scale of ARMY's love and dedication for the BTS star.
