BTS fans in Los Angeles got more than a concert during the group's latest stop at SoFi Stadium. The septet turned its sold-out shows into something of a tattoo reveal, with RM and J-Hope both showcasing new ink during the two-day run.
The surprises began on the first day when Jimin drew attention to RM's latest tattoo. The BTS leader has added the words "a human" to his bicep, giving fans another piece of ink to decode and discuss. The tattoo quickly became a talking point among the group's ARMY following its reveal.
But the second day brought another reveal, this time from J-Hope. The rapper showed off a new tattoo reading "ARMY" on his thigh, with the design carrying a particularly personal connection to BTS and its fans.
The tattoo isn't simply a tribute through words. Its design references a move from BTS' Butter music video, where the seven members use their bodies to form the shape of "ARMY". The rapper has now transformed that visual into a permanent piece of ink.
RM appeared to be equally amused by the scale of J-Hope's latest addition. While introducing the reveal, he told the audience, "It's the biggest tattoo he ever had!" Member V, who was recently in a car accident, then helped pull J-Hope up to give fans a proper look at the tattoo on his thigh.
The reveal adds another chapter to BTS' long-running relationship with tattoos and their fandom. The members famously share matching tattoos featuring the number "7", with each member choosing a different location for the ink. They got the tattoos in June 2022 as a reference to the seven-member group.
Tattoos aside, BTS are currently taking their ARIRANG World Tour across North America. The Los Angeles concerts mark the end of the tour's North American leg, with the group set to continue through Latin America from October 2 and throughout the month.
The tour will subsequently move to Asia and Australia, with performances scheduled to continue into March 2027. Additional dates are also expected to be announced.
Meanwhile, BTS members have continued adding to their individual collections of body art. Jung Kook, in particular, is known for his extensive sleeve, which he has continued to modify over time.
For ARMY, the latest reveals offer another glimpse into how the members continue to find personal ways of celebrating their group, their journey and the fans who have been part of it. And with the world tour still rolling, there may be more surprises and perhaps more ink waiting around the corner. There are also reports that BTS could potentially make an appearance to the Coachella stage in 2027.
