Ahead of BTS's much-anticipated full-group comeback expected in 2026, the group has found itself at the centre of fresh debate after leader RM made a candid remark about their agency, HYBE. During a recent Weverse live broadcast meant to share holiday wishes and celebrate V's birthday, RM surprised fans by openly expressing disappointment with the company. He said he wished the agency would care for the members more and look out for them, adding that he rarely speaks so openly about such matters.

Agency reacts to RM's comment

The unexpected comment quickly went viral, prompting widespread discussion among fans and industry observers about BTS's treatment behind the scenes. The situation gained further traction when a former BigHit Music director, Elly Chae, shared her thoughts online. She admitted that RM's words shocked her and hinted at deeper internal issues within the company. According to her, BTS may have been repeatedly sidelined due to multiple challenges HYBE has faced in recent years.

Chae suggested that complications surrounding the members' military enlistment may have played a role. Reports have previously indicated that there were plans for simultaneous enlistment, which did not materialise as intended, potentially affecting the group's long-term scheduling. She also pointed to broader problems within HYBE, including controversies involving other artists and ongoing corporate and legal concerns, which may have diverted attention away from BTS despite their foundational role in the company's success.

Fans come out in support of RM

Fans reacted strongly to both RM's comments and the former employee's claims. Many expressed disappointment, questioning how a group that built HYBE into a global powerhouse could still feel neglected. Some fans argued that as HYBE expanded rapidly and launched newer acts, BTS may not have received the same level of care and focus they once did. Others, however, felt RM's comments should have remained private and worried that public speculation could strain the relationship between the group and the company.

The debate also highlighted lingering frustrations over BTS's long hiatus due to military service, which has only intensified anticipation for their reunion. With no official response from HYBE so far, the situation has left fans divided but concerned. RM's honest remarks have reignited conversations about artist welfare, management priorities, and whether BTS, despite their global stature, were ever quietly pushed aside during critical moments in their career.

As anticipation builds for BTS's return, fans continue to watch closely, hoping both the group and their agency move forward with greater transparency and mutual understanding.
