The story of Mirzapur is far from over. Following the success of Mirzapur: The Movie, the makers have moved on to the fourth season of the Prime Video series, which is currently in development. Shweta Tripathi is eager to revisit Golu Gupta, with director Gurmmeet Singh confirming that scripting is underway. The production timeline will be finalised only by early 2027.
When Tripathi first played Golu, the character was a reserved, studious young woman who believed in the power of education. But loss, violence, power, and revenge have reshaped her. "Her journey is special to me. Golu's experiences have changed her. And she is still changing. But I think that's what makes her human. I have grown as an actor while playing her too, so in many ways, we have grown together," says the actor.

Tripathi believes Golu's evolution leaves plenty of room for exploration, even after three seasons and a film. Every time she returns to the character, "I discover something new". She adds, "As an actor, it is a beautiful space to be in because you are not just repeating something you have done before, you are going back to a person who has lived through more experiences. You have to understand what those experiences have done to her. I would love to keep discovering those different sides of her."
The fourth season was conceptualised and mapped alongside Mirzapur: The Movie, and the story will continue from the finale of the third season
