Dinil Babu and Dulquer Salm
While actor and producer Dulquer Salmaan and his production house continue to bask in the success of their latest project Lokah, the production house has recently found itself embroiled in controversy. A woman has allegedly filed a complaint claiming that she was subjected to a casting couch incident involving director Dhinil Babu, who claimed to have an association with the company.
The woman alleged that Dhinil Babu got in contact with her under the pretext of offering a role in a Wayfarer Films production. She further claimed that he invited her to meet at a building near the company's Panampilly Nagar office. Upon meeting, the woman claimed that Dhinil took her into a room where he attempted to assault her, and threatened that she would be blacklisted from future opportunities in the Malayalam film industry if she resisted his advances.
The complainant has also reportedly submitted voice messages as evidence to the police.
According to an Asianet News report, the complaint specifically mentions Associate Director Dhinil Babu. Now, Dulquer Salmaan's production house, Warfarer Productions, has reacted to the complaint by promptly filing official reports with Thevara Police Station and FEFKA. The production house clarified that Dhinil Babu has no connection to the company and that he has never worked on any of their projects.
Wayfarer Films has strongly condemned the incident, emphasising that the alleged harassment attempt was unauthorised and entirely unconnected to their company. The production house further noted that the complaint against Dhinil Babu was filed in order to protect Wayfarer Films from defamation connected to casting couch allegations. The production house explained that all legitimate casting calls of the company are announced exclusively through their verified social media platforms. The company also issued a warning to aspiring actors, urging them to be cautious and not fall victim to such fraudulent offers, or calls
Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films has also reassured the public that Dhinil Babu is not affiliated with any of their projects and that any claims of his association with the company are completely false.
