Jr NTR recently reacted strongly to an AI-generated âChuttamalle' video and warned of legal action, as several celebrities have spoken out against the misuse of AI. From deepfakes to morphed images, the technology has become a growing concern in the industry. Amid this, Samantha Ruth Prabhu promoted an AI-related platform, which did not go down well with netizens. Many questioned her choice and called her out in the comments.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently promoted AI platform ChatGPT in her social media post. However, she was criticised for her choice to do so, as several celebs are facing the wrath of technology and dealing with breaches of privacy and morphed content.
Netizens took to the comment section and questioned Samantha's choice, pointing out how she has been vocal about promoting sustainability and taking environmental measures. A user wrote, "Samantha, I think this was an opportunity to highlight something much more important: how we use AI responsibly. We're already becoming so dependent on AI that even deciding what to do with a free day is something we turn to ChatGPT for. While AI can be an incredibly useful tool, I also think we can try to be mindful of how much of our everyday thinking, creativity and decision-making we're outsourcing to it. Especially coming from someone with such a huge influence, a conversation around using AI responsibly, rather than relying on it for every little thing, would have been so meaningful."
Another noted how she has promoted social causes and wrote, "Actors fight every time a morphed pic comes out and still supporting AI is not ethically correct... Don't you think? Please consider... Thanks."
While a third user wrote, "Totally disappointed that you would promote AI."
This comes after the Bombay High Court directed the removal of deepfakes and other unauthorised content allegedly misusing actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu's name, image, voice and other aspects of her personality. The order came after the actor approached the court over the alleged misuse of her identity across AI platforms, e-commerce portals and digital media.
Reports currently place Samantha in her third trimester, with her baby due in December 2026. Recently, Samantha and Raj also celebrated a traditional baby shower, or Seemantham, at Sadhguru's Isha Foundation in Coimbatore. Amid her pregnancy, she is sharing her workout videos and even judging MasterChef Tamil.
