Samantha Ruth Prabhu has announced her pregnancy with filmmaker-husband Raj Nidimoru, nearly three years after battling myositis, a rare autoimmune muscle disorder. The actress opened up about the lasting impact of her myositis diagnosis. In an interview, she revealed that she still lives with the fear of not having enough energy to get through each day.
In an interview with ETimes, Samantha opened up about life after her myositis diagnosis and said, "Every day I wake up and pray that there is no trigger and that I have the energy and strength to shoot through the day. There is this tiny fear about not having enough energy to make it through the day. When I was first offered Maa Inti Bangaaram, I was petrified. I didn't know if I would be able to do it or if my body would allow it. When you have certain restrictions and constraints, you make the most of every single day."
"This is a really great phase of my life, and I'm looking forward to a maternity break," she added. "While I might not be seen on screen for a while, I have many films to produce and other businesses that I need to take care of. So, in that sense, I'm not entirely taking a break from work."
At the success meet of her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, Samantha confirmed her pregnancy and said, "Sorry, guys, one more small gap and then I'll be back," she blushed as she told her fans. She then went on to add, "But actually, I know I have to take maternity leave now, but I'm very, very happy." The fans and media gathered at the event erupted in loud cheers. To note, the confirmation came days after Samantha was spotted with a baby bump during the film's party.
The action drama follows Swarna (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), also known as Jhansi, as she meets her husband's family for the first time. Just when she's trying to settle into her new life and win everyone over, someone from her past, Karuna, reappears and wreaks havoc. The film is directed by Nandini Reddy and created by Raj Nidimoru.
