Amid the buzz around Vijay and Trisha Krishnan and the actor-politician's wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam's divorce filing, Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, 2026. Adding fuel to the rumours, Trisha was recently seen attending Vijay's oath ceremony in Chennai. Amid this, singer Suchitra recently slammed the actress over the rumours.

Singer Suchitra says she does not like Trisha

In a recent interview, singer Suchitra spoke about the rumours surrounding Trisha and Vijay's relationship, making it clear that she supports Vijay. She also admitted she is not a fan of Trisha. According to Firstpost, she reportedly said, "I don't like Trisha at all. I will tell this objectively and will not let it colour my judgment. I like Vijay very much. I will give my opinion honestly without taking sides."

Suchitra also opened up about Vijay's personal and political life. According to the singer, the actor distanced himself from important people around him, suggesting, "Parasites tend to enter the lives of successful people when they become isolated. Vijay has isolated himself by distancing himself from his parents and wife. He is alone but has done no soul-searching till now."

The singer further added that the actor-turned-politician would benefit from guidance from his father, filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar, especially now that he has stepped into politics.

Trisha attends Vijay's oath ceremony

Earlier today, Actor Trisha Krishnan arrived at Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday ahead of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C Joseph Vijay's swearing-in ceremony as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Vijay assumed office after TVK secured 118 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, having achieved the majority mark with additional support from Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK and IUML.

Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Arlekar formally appointed Vijay as Chief Minister, asking him to prove his majority in the Assembly before May 13.

Vijay's parents also attended the event and expressed happiness about the milestone. Director SA Chandrasekhar said he was looking forward to witnessing his son take oath as Chief Minister, while his mother, Sobha, described it as especially emotional since it coincides with Mother's Day. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also present at the swearing-in ceremony.
