Actress Ruchi Gujjar has taken the legal route and filed a police complaint against producer Karan Singh Chauhan and Man Singh, along with the production banner of So Long Valley. On Thursday, So Long Valley film was being screened at a cinema hall in Mumbai. During the screening, Ruchi Gujjar reached the Cinepolis theatre with some people to protest. The actress was allegedly protesting against the producers along with others.
Ruchi, along with the others, was seen holding posters of the film So Long Valley with a Red Cross symbol on them. While they were arguing, Ruchi hit director Man Singh with a slipper. The video has been circulating on the internet, where she can be seen shouting at him and then threw the slipper at him.
Ruchi has also filed an FIR at the at Oshiwara Police Station on July 24, 2025, under sections 318(4), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. She claimed that the producers allegedly misled the actress by promising her a producer role in a Hindi TV serial on a reputed channel. Over the period from July 2023 to January 2024, Ruchi claims to have transferred over Rs 24 lakh in multiple instalments from Ruchi's company, SR Event and Entertainment, to producer Karan's company, K Studios, for production-related expenses and as part of a co-production arrangement.
In her statement, Ruchi alleged that Karan Singh Chauhan contacted her in early 2023 via WhatsApp and told her he was working on a Hindi television serial for Sony TV. He then presented a lucrative opportunity to her as a co-producer. Trusting him and production materials, Ruchi transferred the funds to various bank accounts.
However, Ruchi claims that despite multiple follow-ups, there was no progress on the project. Moreover, the accused also avoided calls, failed to honour refund promises, and ultimately even began threatening her. During that time, she got to know that Karan Singh Chauhan was involved in multiple fraud case.
Ruchi Gujjar has demanded strict action against the accused, saying, "I have been mentally and financially harassed. This is not just about money but about the trust broken by people misusing the name of the industry. I have full faith that Mumbai Police will ensure justice is served."
The police have registered the case and are investigating the matter further. The FIR also mentioned specific transaction details such as account numbers and the total financial loss incurred by the complainant.
