Amitabh Bachchan is set to return as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, and the new season promises to make contestants think harder than ever. After teasing the season with the line "Is baar sochna padega," the makers have now released a new promo featuring Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol as the first guests.
In the promo, Aamir is seen questioning Bachchan about the meaning behind the new season's tagline. "Aapne kaha hai aapne promo mein, sochna padega, bata dijiye sir kya sochna padega?" Aamir asks, wanting to know what contestants will have to think about.
Bachchan responds with his trademark wit, telling Aamir, "Aisa hai sir mujhe dekhne se aapko koi fayda nahi hoga." He then adds, "Itna asaan nahi hone waala hai." Aamir agrees with the host and says, "Waqai sochna padega."
The promo has already sparked excitement among fans, particularly because it marks Sunny Deol's first appearance on KBC. Sunny will join Aamir on the hot seat as the duo promote their upcoming period drama, Batwara 1947. Reacting to the promo, one social media user wrote, "It's so good to see both Aamir & Sunny sitting on hot seat!"
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 is backed by Aamir Khan under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. Set in Lahore against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition and the division of Punjab, the film features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare and Kanikka Kapur.
The film marks Preity Zinta's return to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus. AR Rahman has composed the music, while Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics. Batwara 1947 has also received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts and is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14.
Meanwhile, Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 will premiere on Monday, August 10, at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. The show will air from Monday to Friday.
The new season explores how, in an era where information is readily accessible, the real advantage lies in the ability to interpret, connect and apply knowledge. With Bachchan returning to the host's chair and tougher questions promised, KBC 18 aims to bring a fresh challenge to contestants.
