Friendship is often tested during life's most difficult moments, and actor Arjun Bijlani believes the strongest relationships are the ones that stand by you through every phase. On Friendship Day, the actor opened up about the people who have remained by his side, the value of genuine connections, and why trust and effort are the foundation of every lasting friendship.
Arjun shared that while he has built many friendships over the years, there are only a few people he knows he can always depend on. Having worked in the television industry for many years, he has stayed connected with people from almost every project he has been a part of. "I've been lucky to make friends on almost every show I've worked on, both on and off camera. I do have a large circle of friends, but there are a handful of people I know I can truly count on. Those are the relationships I value the most," he said.
Looking back at one of the most challenging phases of his life, Arjun recalled the period before the birth of his son, Ayaan. At the time, work had slowed down, and he was unsure about what the future held. He says it was his wife, Neha, who became his biggest source of strength. "There was a lot of uncertainty in my career, but Neha never let me lose hope. She believed in me even when I was struggling to believe in myself. Soon after, Naagin Season 1 happened, and it changed my career. I'll always be grateful for the faith she had in me. My mother has also been one of my biggest pillars throughout my journey," he shared.
Talking about friendships in the entertainment industry, Arjun admitted that while competition exists, genuine bonds are still possible. "Competition is part of every profession, but if you're genuine, respectful and happy for someone else's success, friendships naturally become stronger. I've been fortunate to maintain relationships with people from almost every show I've done," he said.
The actor also believes success should never change the way a person treats others. "My friendships have only grown stronger with time because I value the people who were there before success and after it. Staying grounded has helped me keep those relationships intact," he added. For Arjun, the secret to long-lasting friendships is simple. "Trust, respect, honesty and making an effort. We may not speak every day, but whenever we meet, it feels like nothing has changed. That's what real friendship is."
Despite his demanding work schedule, Arjun makes it a point to stay connected with his loved ones. "I'm a very social person, so I always make time for family and friends. Whether it's lunch, dinner, a house party or even a phone call, relationships need effort. The people closest to me keep me grounded, and I never take them for granted," he concluded.
