The TV show Naagin 7 recently became a major talking point after an unedited scene from the show accidentally aired on television. The scene, featuring lead actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, quickly went viral on social media, with many netizens mocking the unexpected blunder.
Now, producer Ekta Kapoor has reacted to the controversy and stood firmly by the show's editor.
Ektaa recently shared a video with her long-time editor, Vicky, and said, "Meet Vicky ji. Inke blue screen ke charche poore Bombay mein hain abhi (His blue screen is being talked about all over Bombay right now). I can change a lover, but I can't change Vicky ji from my life."
She added, "Even if I make 50 shows, Vicky ji will have a hand in all of them. He is the best editor in the country. Apologise to this man- he's the best in the business. Be it Naagin or Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, this man has edited every show of ours for 20 years."
Ektaa further said, "Directors change, writers change, but for us there's only one man who does all our work - Vicky ji. Even if we have 50 shows, there's only one editor. Maybe that's why we gave him too much work. We keep him awake the whole night. He is the best."
Ektaa's heartfelt words left the editor emotional, and he was seen wiping away tears.
The glitch reportedly appeared during a key sequence where VFX was meant to create a jungle backdrop. However, instead of the final edited visuals, viewers briefly saw the raw blue screen used during filming. Sharp-eyed viewers quickly spotted the error and began sharing clips across social media, turning it into a viral talking point.
During a recent interaction with the paparazzi, Priyanka was asked about the incident. Reacting to the goof-up, the actress joked, "Accha, humne bhi dekha⦠aapne bhi dekha? Wowâ¦"
She then added, "It's human error. What more can one say? Work is being done to ensure such mistakes don't happen in the future. Sometimes, these things happen."
Following the backlash, the makers have now corrected the error, and the blue-screen footage is no longer visible in the currently streaming episode.
