Fans of Box Cricket League (BCL) will have to wait until November to see their favourite television stars, including Karan Patel, Karan Wahi, Krip Suri, Hiten Tejwani and Anita Hassanandani, get down and dirty. Visa issues of at least 30 TV stars forced the makers to push back the tournament.

The final four teams - Delhi Dragons, Chennai Swaggers, Chandigarh Cubs and Jaipur Raj Joshiley - were supposed to fly to San Francisco for a cricket event scheduled for July 30. However, dates of actors' visa interview clashed with that of the event and the plan fell through.

Says Anand Mishra, co-owner of the production house, which produces BCL, "We are planning to push BCL to November now. The visa interviews were scheduled for July 29 and 30, and the event was to be held on July 30. So we had no option. Also, all artists were going on a performance visa, which lasts only for a few days. Hence, there was no point postponing the event just for a few days."

So, will the teams go through the entire process of visa application again? "Yes. We have incurred losses of about Rs 40-50 lakh. However, it wouldn't have been fair to take just a few stars when we promised 50 actors. Ekta Kapoor is going to San Francisco on August 5 to meet sponsors and organisers," Mishra signs off.
