As the devastating floods continue to wreak havoc across Assam, actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee has shared an emotional update about her family. Fighting back tears, she revealed that her mother remains stranded in Nazira, while her grandmother and aunt's home has been completely destroyed.

In a video she shared on her Instagram Stories earlier, the 40-year-old actor said, "I'm so sorry. This is the reason I haven't been able to make a video. I knew I would break down. Sivasagar and Nazira are where I grew up. I was born there, and my schooling and college were all there."

Speaking about her family's situation, the Saath Nibhaana Saathiya actor revealed, "Sadly and unfortunately, my mother is still stuck in Nazira." She added that, by God's grace, their old house has not been completely flooded. However, the devastation to her grandmother and aunt's house has been severe. "Everything is finished. Nothing is left," she said, adding, "As you can see in the videos, there is absolutely nothing remaining."

As Assam's flood death toll rose to 80 and nearly 1.92 lakh people remained affected, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) launched a large-scale relief operation in Sivasagar. The party said it aims to provide food to 15,000 people daily for 10 days and will also set up medical camps in the flood-hit region.

Several Bollywood celebrities have also come forward to provide assistance to the flood-hit regions. Randeep Hooda participated in a flood relief distribution programme organised by Global Sikhs in Assam's Sivasagar on Saturday. He distributed rations and other essential supplies and participated in the relief efforts alongside the NGO.

Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support flood relief efforts. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the actor for his generous contribution. Several other celebrities have also stepped forward to support the flood-hit state. Alia Bhatt urged immediate relief for Assam, highlighting the loss of lives and the displacement of lakhs of people. She said the state needs urgent assistance as well as long-term support.

Salman Khan has partnered with SKFC Assam and Being Human to support flood-affected families in the state.
