Delnaaz Irani brings glamour, comedy, and drama to the screen with her new character Chandni, a former superstar who still believes she is adored by millions. The actor will be seen in a flamboyant yet emotional role that is expected to add a fresh twist to the ongoing storyline. While Chandni appears dramatic and larger than life on the surface, the character also carries emotional depth and vulnerability.
In the show, Chandni arrives at the hospital as a patient and insists on being treated only by Dr Dev, someone she once deeply trusted. However, she remains unaware that Dr Dev has lost his memory and stepped away from his profession, creating tension and emotional conflict in the narrative.
Speaking exclusively to mid-day about the role, Delnaaz admitted that the character feels extremely natural to her. "I think it's lovely, I don't have to do much acting. All of this comes very naturally to me. In terms of doing comedy or being a little flamboyant, glamorous and all of this is something that I've been doing over the years," she shared.
The actor further explained that while the glamour quotient may feel slightly different, comedy has always been her comfort zone. "As far as comedy is concerned, I've always been doing comedy. I like the fact that I'm very comfortable with the character. It's fun-loving, there's flamboyancy, it's a little over the top," she said.
Delnaaz also hinted that Chandni's entry will change the tone of the show by introducing comic energy and glamour. "Once Chandni Khanna comes in, she brings that little comic flavour and that little flavour of glamour with flamboyancy," she added.
The actor also opened up about reuniting with Sony SAB and collaborating again with Sobo Films. Having previously worked on several popular comedy shows with the channel, Delnaaz said she was excited to return. "I've worked with SAB TV for the longest time. My show Yes Boss and so many other shows were with them. I was really looking forward to doing something with them again," she revealed.
She added that the combination of Sony SAB and Sobo Films made the project even more appealing. "Besides the character, I also see who are the people I'm going to work with. When you wake up with a smile to go for work and come back with gratitude, that matters the most," Delnaaz said.
Addressing the idea of working in an ensemble cast, the actor confidently dismissed any concerns about screen space or visibility. "Whether there are four actors with me or twenty actors with me, I am doing my job and I have to do it with full dedication," she stated.
Delnaaz further explained that she has always believed good performances naturally stand out, regardless of the size of the role. "Even if it's a small part, one will shine because of the good work that you're doing," she concluded.
