KBC17: Manoj Bajpayee recalls Amitabh Bachchan nearly gave him a heart attack, says 'He had almost killed me'

Bollywood actors Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sharib Hashmi are set to appear on Amitabh Bachchan's reality quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, to promote their upcoming third season of The Family Man. The new promo has some amusing banter between Manoj and Big B, with the actor recalling how the host once nearly gave him a heart attack.

The promo depicts Manoj telling Jaideep Ahlawat and Sharib Hashmi about his 'deadly' experience with Big B. He stated, "Amit ji ne ek Baar mujhe maar diya tha. Mera heart attack hojata sirf Amit ji ke karan. yeh pura mujhe plan kiya gaya tha mujhe upar leke jaane ke liye. Main Awak reh gaya ki inhone kya bola. Inhone meri jaan le li thi". (Amit ji had once killed me. I nearly had a heart attack because of him. All of this was intended to propel me upward. He said something that surprised me. He had nearly taken my life.)

Amitabh Bachchan kept urging Manoj to tell him the complete truth about what had happened. While Manoj did not elaborate on the incident, many believe Big B played a trick on him. Another trailer featured Big B repeating his famed Zanjeer phrase, "Jab tak bethne ko naa bola jaaye, khade raho, yeh Police station hai, tumhare baap ka ghar nahi (keep standing until asked to sit, this is a police station, not your father's house)." But the celebrity gave it a Bhojpuri touch, which had everyone in splits.

Manoj Bajpayee is all praises for Big B

In the earlier promo, looking at Amitabh Bachchan with a mix of respect and mischief in his eyes, Manoj Vajpayee said, "During Amitabh Bachchan's Aks movie, KBC had started, the times have changed and industry has changed, but Amit ji hasn't changed." The studio erupted in applause. The sentiment was sincere, but the way Manoj delivered it with his signature dry humour made it land with both depth and laughter. Big B smiled, acknowledging the warmth behind the teasing.

Manoj decided to take the nostalgia a step further. Without warning, he launched into one of Amitabh Bachchan's iconic Deewar dialogues but with a twist that sent everyone roaring. He performed the entire line in Bhojpuri, adding a rustic flavour that was both unexpected and funny. His intonation, expression, and perfect Bhojpuri rhythm had the audience clapping and laughing in equal measure.

Stand-up comedians Harsh Gujral, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Abhishek Upamanyu, and Ravi Gupta appeared on the show's most recent edition, making Big B and the crowd laugh. Big B also performed stand-up comedy on the show. The episode starring Manoj, Jaideep, and Sharib will show on Sony LIV on Friday at 9 p.m.
