Ekta Kapoor-produced reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is returning with a rebooted version on Netflix. As the makers gear up for its premiere on June 27, they officially revealed the first three contestants of the show, while the full contestant lineup is yet to be unveiled. The reality show will be hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh as jailers.
At a press conference held in Mumbai on Monday, the makers officially announced the first three participants who will be seen entering the reality show. TV actors Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi and Pamela Serena have been confirmed as contestants for the upcoming season.
While Ram is a well-known name in the TV space for his shows like Kasamh Se, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain as well as Bollywood films like Humshakals, Student of the Year and more. Meanwhile, Shivangi Joshi has also become a household name for her work in the television drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Meanwhile, Pamela Serena is a model and a pageant title holder based in Dubai, UAE. She recently gained widespread popularity for her appearance in Desi Bling.
Reports also speculate that several other well-known names have been approached for the show. Celebrities such as Shilpa Shinde, Sunita Ahuja, Mahhi Vij and Puneet Superstar have been linked to the show. However, the makers have yet to unveil the final list officially.
Additionally, comedian and content creator Pranit More is another name that has reportedly been approached for the upcoming show, along with Splitsvilla stars Yogesh Rawat and Akanksha Choudhary.
The upcoming season is set to premiere on Netflix from June 27 and is expected to retain the drama, confrontations, and unpredictable twists, retaining the essence that made the reality format popular among viewers. It will be a six-week season that promises explosive drama and raw truths as the 14 celebrity inmates battle for survival inside a high-security prison setup.
The makers unveiled a new teaser earlier, highlighting a dynamic of good cop and bad cop developing between the two jailers. While Farah can be seen delivering her signature sharp, candid humour with no-nonsense demeanour, Riteish offered his charming, observational approach.
