Ankur Bharddwaj
After playing characters in historicals and thrillers, Ankur Bharddwaj is embracing a lighter side of his craft as Nakul Maheshwari in the third season of Mann Sundar. Calling his character "chulbula and dramatic", the actor says the role is unlike anything he has played before. "I have never done such a role before. I simply loved the character. Nakul is the ladla of the house," he says.
While romantic chemistry often takes centre stage on television, Bharddwaj found himself drawn to the bromance between his character and his onscreen brother Nihaal Maheshwari, played by Shubh Sharma. "They love each other. Nihaal is always there to rescue his younger brother. It's a beautiful bond that I enjoy portraying," says the actor. He adds that there are a lot of similarities between him and his character.
Being part of an established show comes with its own set of advantages and challenges. While there is no need to draw in a new audience, living up to the expectations of an existing one brings its own "pressure". "Keeping the character authentic, [relatable], and making the audience feel connected to the character [is essential]. So, pressure is definitely there," accepts the actor.
