Payal Malik issues apology after getting brutally trolled over controversial video of depicting Goddess Kali

Payal Malik, a social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant, has issued a public apology following criticism for a video in which she was seen dressed as Goddess Kali.

The video, which has since been deleted, sparked outrage on social media, with many claiming that it offended religious sensibilities. Payal went to the Kali Mata Temple in Patiala on Tuesday and broke down in tears, pleading with devotees and the public for forgiveness. She was joined by her husband, YouTuber Armaan Malik, and their daughter, Tuba. As part of her apologies, the family did seva at the temple, cleaning utensils and providing meals to devotees.

During the temple visit, Payal told the media, "Whatever punishment is given to me, I am ready to accept it." She also stated that the video was originally shot three months ago and was never intended to offend. "My daughter is a devoted Kali Maa follower, so I decided to recreate the look for her." I now realise it was a grave mistake. I fold my hands and truly apologise to everyone. "I hope no one makes this mistake again," she remarked.

Why did Payal delete the video?

Payal explained that she removed the video shortly after it was uploaded due to negative feedback. "I read the comments, realised my error, and removed it." Unfortunately, some other pages saved it and are now re-sharing it on their own social media channels," she explained.

Payal appeared in the film costumed as Goddess Kali, complete with traditional symbols including a Trishul and crown. It received backlash online for what many saw as a disrespectful portrayal.

Payal and Armaan Malik are popular digital content creators. Armaan, who is married to Payal and her friend Kritika Malik, is well-known for his unique family structure. The three appeared together on Bigg Boss OTT 3 and have four children: Chirayu, Tuba, Ayan, and Zaid. Payal and Kritika are often seen in the vlogs sharing about their family. The trio has numerous channels on YouTube, some are their family vlogs, while in others they talk about fitness, lifestyle and different topics.
