Television actor Aashutosh Semwal has revealed that he narrowly escaped the devastating cloudburst that affected Dharali village in Uttarakhand. The actor shared that he had been in the area for work; however, he left the location just a day before the disaster occurred. Aashutosh originally hails from Pipalkoti, a town which is nearly 327 km from Dharali. The actor expressed his relief and gratitude.
During an interview with the Times of India, Aashutosh recalled how close he came to being caught in the calamity, but managed to escape, saying, "I'm safe, our place is safe. I'm thankful to God that I left Dharali just a day before the nightmare." The actor further went on to praise the ongoing relief efforts and environmental measures being undertaken by the government in the wake of the cloudburst. He said, "The government is trying its best to protect not only people but also taking measures to safeguard the flora and fauna that are suffering. I wish and pray for all for the recovery from the disaster," he added.
Aashutosh also opened up that he is currently spending time with family in Dehradun while helping his parents with his wedding preparations. He shared, "As I wasn't shooting these days, I was spending more time here in my hometown helping my parents who are preparing for my marriage, which is scheduled for November this year."
The actor also mentioned that if he had not been relieved from his professional commitments on time, things could have turned out very differently.
Notably, Aashutosh got engaged to Manisha Bhatt on May 14 via an arranged marriage setup. Talking about their relationship, the actor had previously revealed, "I met her for the first time in an arranged marriage setup. Our parents introduced us. We started talking and meeting as friends and came to the conclusion that we are ready for marriage."
Aashutosh was reportedly in a relationship with Pandya Store actress Simran Budharup earlier. However, the duo broke up in September 2023. Aashutosh is known for his roles in shows such as Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet, Ishq Subhan Allah, and Sadda Haq - My Life My Choice 2.
