The film brings together four acclaimed filmmakers, Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj with for four distinctive stories exploring love, lust, relationships and repressed desire.

Each filmmaker brings a distinct storytelling sensibility to the anthology, with the four stories examining intimacy and relationships through deeply personal and contemporary perspectives. While the narratives differ in tone and treatment, they collectively delve into the complexities, contradictions and emotional truths that shape human connections.
The return of Lust Stories marks another chapter in a franchise that has established itself as one of Netflix India's notable anthology properties. The original Lust Stories, released in 2018, featured four stories directed by Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. The film explored themes of desire, intimacy, marriage and modern relationships, with a cast that included Kiara Advani, Vicky Kaushal, Radhika Apte, Neha Dhupia and Manisha Koirala, among others.
The success of the first instalment paved the way for Lust Stories 2, which premiered on Netflix in 2023. The second chapter brought together filmmakers Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Konkona Sen Sharma, R Balki and Sujoy Ghosh. Its cast included Mrunal Thakur, Kajol, Neena Gupta, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma and Angad Bedi.
With Lust Stories 3, the franchise once again brings together four filmmakers with markedly different cinematic voices. Motwane, Rao, Batra and Bhardwaj are known for their individual approaches to storytelling, making their collaboration one of the key highlights of the upcoming anthology.
The September 18 premiere date has now heightened anticipation among viewers. While details about the individual stories remain closely guarded, the combination of the acclaimed directors and an accomplished ensemble cast promises four narratives rooted in contemporary emotions and relationships.
As Lust Stories 3 arrives on Netflix, the anthology continues its exploration of intimacy, desire and the many complexities of human connection.
