Samay Raina's popular comedy-talent show India's Got Latent appears to be heading for a major transformation. A recent teaser shared jointly by Netflix India and the comedian has sparked speculation that the much-awaited second season could premiere on the streaming platform instead of YouTube, where the show first gained a massive following.
The buzz began after Netflix posted a cryptic video featuring Amin Khan, popularly known as Samay's bodyguard, standing before red curtains. The post carried a playful caption asking fans to drop lemon and chilli emojis in the comments, a traditional symbol believed to ward off negativity. Samay later reposted the teaser and shared another image of himself holding a nimbu-mirchi charm, further fueling speculation about an upcoming announcement.
Although neither Netflix nor Samay has officially confirmed that the teaser is linked to India's Got Latent Season 2, fans are convinced that the hit show is making a comeback in partnership with the streaming giant. The anticipation has been particularly high since Samay previously revealed during his stand-up special Still Alive that a second season was in development.
The possibility of a Netflix release has, however, divided viewers. While many welcomed the move, believing it could provide a larger platform and stronger backing for the show, others worried that its trademark raw and unfiltered humour might be toned down. The pictures appeared to show actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari participating in the show, reportedly as part of promotions for their upcoming film Alpha. Their presence generated significant discussion, with some fans thrilled to see Bollywood stars on the panel, while others feared the show could drift away from its original creator-driven identity and become a platform for film promotions.
For now, fans are waiting for an official announcement. Whether India's Got Latent returns on Netflix or elsewhere, the teaser has successfully reignited excitement around one of India's most talked-about comedy shows and sparked a fresh debate about how much of its original spirit will remain intact.
