Lock Upp: Akanksha Chamola was only 24 when she married Gaurav Khanna, says 'didn't experience freedom'

Television actress Akanksha Chamola has opened up about embracing a new chapter in her life after announcing her divorce from actor Gaurav Khanna on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. During the latest episode of the reality show, she revealed that she is in no hurry to find love again and instead wants to focus on herself.

The conversation began when fellow contestant Shreya Kalra asked Akanksha whether she was open to falling in love again after her separation. Responding candidly, Akanksha made it clear that romance is not on her mind at the moment. "I don't want to fall in love so soon. I want to enjoy my freedom."

Explaining why she feels this way, Akanksha reflected on getting married at a young age and missing out on experiences she now wishes to explore. "I got married when I was really young, at 24. Maine literally utna kuch explore aur enjoy kiya nahi hai. Now, after 10 years of being in a good relationship, I have my free time to explore, so I don't want to get into anything else."

Her heartfelt remarks came just days after she confirmed on the show's premiere that she and Gaurav Khanna are ending their marriage after nearly a decade together. Akanksha had revealed that the couple had been living separately for the past year before making their decision public.

Despite the separation, she emphasized that there is no bitterness between them. "Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. We don't think we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future. And, unfortunately, it's not with each other."

Akanksha's comments have resonated with many viewers, with several praising her honesty about prioritising self-discovery over immediately moving into another relationship. Clips from the episode have since gone viral across social media, sparking conversations about healing, independence and life after divorce.

Meanwhile, Gaurav Khanna has not publicly reacted to Akanksha's latest statements. The actor has remained silent since she first announced their divorce on Lock Upp.

The revelation had left the fans in shock, most of them also looked back at their reunion in Bigg Boss 19 house and mentioned that Gaurav Khanna managed to fool his fans by acting that everything was fine in his marriage while they were living apart.
