Sunita Ahuja has been making headlines with her unapologetic stint on Lock Upp. From breaking down over the show's living conditions to sparking debates with her candid remarks, she has remained one of the season's most talked-about contestants. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Sunita addresses the criticism over her language, opens up about Govinda's support, and reacts to the infidelity controversy.
Reacting to the criticism over her use of abusive language on the show, Sunita Ahuja said she is completely unfazed by the backlash and has no interest in people who talk behind her back.
"It doesn't bother me. Whoever wants to speak, come and speak in front of me. Everyone is asked to speak behind my back. Come and speak in front of me. And which dictionary says that women can't curse? Do men have the right to curse? Why can't women? I don't believe in all this. Whoever said whatever, I don't even care a damn."
When asked if Govinda's appearance on Judgment Day and his support for her changed anything, Sunita said, "I was told not to do it. I also said in the show that I was told not to do it. But I had to do it because I love Ekta Kapoor a lot. I'm also doing her movie, which is launching my son. I'm playing my son's mother in the film. This is happening for the first time in our film industry that a mother and son are coming together in a movie."
Sunita also addressed the controversy surrounding her remarks on infidelity made during Lock Upp. Dismissing the speculation around her marriage to Govinda, she said, "It's been 40 years since I got married. My husband loves me, and I love my husband a lot. The rest is up to you. Ram also gave the answer. If your bonding is good, then anyone can say anything. What difference does it make?"
Asked if she believes any contestant crossed the line during the course of the reality show, Sunita said, "I don't think anybody is crossing their limits. Everyone should answer the way the situation is. No one should sit quietly and listen. Even I was pointed at. You heard how many words I said. So, no one should point fingers. It's someone's personal life."
