Hollywood film Obsession became the talk of the town, breaking global records. The indie supernatural thriller reportedly earned USD 520 million worldwide despite being made on a modest budget of close of just USD 1 million. Now, following its breakthrough box office run, the film is all set to get a Hindi-dubbed version on OTT, which will premiere on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar. To make things more interesting, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have been roped in to dub for the lead characters Bear, played by Michael Johnston and Nikki, portrayed by Inde Navarrette, for the Hindi version.
On Tuesday, the platform shared a promo of Varun and Kriti recreating one of the iconic scenes from the film. Sharing details of the Hindi dub, JioHotstar wrote, "We wished we could tell you sooner, but where's the fun in that? Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan, with Amar Kaushik, have been cooking up something we're just a little obsessed with. Obsession: The Original Uncut Version streams 30th October, 7 PM onwards, exclusively on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar (sic)."
In an official statement, Kriti shared that she loved watching Curry Baker's film and the star performances. Calling the film a gripping, quirky, and twisted story, Kriti added that she had never explored an edgy character like Nikki before.
Interestingly, this is the first time Kriti Sanon is lending her voice to another actor's performance. She says she couldn't have asked for a more exciting movie to make her debut with. The actress also admitted that she had a lot of fun voicing Nikki and that she can't wait for the audiences to watch Obsession in Hindi.
On the other hand, Varun also said that working on the Hindi version of Obsession gave him an opportunity to experience the story from a completely different perspective. The actor revealed that he found himself enjoying the movie even more since he could look at it closely.
"I noticed so many little details that I may have missed on a first watch, and that made the whole experience even more interesting. I'm excited for audiences to experience Obsession in Hindi and discover those details for themselves," Varun said.
