Actress Aanchal Tiwari, who has been a recurring face in the popular web series 'Panchayat' took to Instagram to quash the rumours around her death. A couple of days ago, Aanchal was reported to have been killed in a road accident in Devkali village in Bihar's Mohania police station area among nine other individuals.
Ending the rumours once and for all, Aanchal took to Instagram and posted a video of the same with a comprehensive post urging the media to not give out false information. Titled as "Stop the lies,", she wrote, "I am alive and well, blessed by God's grace! It has come to my attention that false information claiming I was in a car accident and passed away has been circulated using my picture. This unprofessional and disgraceful act has intensely traumatized me."
She added, "I urge all media outlets to be diligent in fact-checking before circulating information. Using someone's image in such a misleading way is unacceptable and hostile. Let's hold ourselves to higher standards of integrity and responsibility. Please help me spread the truth by sharing this post and putting an end to these malicious rumours. Let's all strive for accuracy, respect, and empathy in our reporting. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern - I truly appreciate your support."
Created by The Viral Fever for the Amazon Prime Video, 'Panchayat' was scripted by Chandan Kumar, directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, and features Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Biswapati Sarkar, and Chandan Roy. It chronicles the life of an engineering graduate who joins as a Panchayat secretary in a remote village Phulera of Uttar Pradesh due to a lack of better job options.
The show received Filmfare OTT awards for 'Best Comedy Show' along with 'Best Actor', 'Best Actor in A Supporting Role (Female)', 'Best Actor in A Supporting Role (Male) in a Comedy Series', going to Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav respectively.
In 'Panchayat', Aanchal essayed the role of Raveena, best friend of Rinki (Sanvikaa) and daughter of Pradhan played by Neena Gupta. The show has come out with two seasons so far and a third one is to be released soon.
